The second webinar of the I3-4-BIOFERTILIZERS Capacity Building Series, organised by VEGEPOLYS VALLEY on 3 June 2026, is now available for replay, providing valuable guidance on both private and public funding opportunities to support the growth and scaling of innovative businesses in the biofertilizer sector.
The first part of the session focused on private funding strategies, with Vagner Pinto Morais (BGT Consulting Group) and Théo Saint Martin (Veragrow) outlining the key steps for SMEs and startups seeking investment. The discussion highlighted the critical questions typically raised by investors, the challenges associated with the so-called “valleys of death” in business development, and practical approaches to overcoming them. Particular attention was given to the development of a compelling pitch deck, as well as to current investment trends, including the growing interest in deep-tech solutions in the agri-food sector and how companies can effectively target appropriate investors, from business angels to venture capital funds.
The second part of the webinar addressed public funding opportunities, with Claire Grosbois (VEGEPOLYS VALLEY) and Gilles De Clercq (ZymoFix) presenting key European programmes such as Eurostars, Horizon Europe, and the EIC Accelerator. The speakers provided insights into navigating highly competitive calls, building strong and effective consortia, and ensuring alignment with Technology Readiness Level (TRL) requirements to increase the likelihood of success.
Overall, the webinar offers a comprehensive overview of the funding landscape, equipping organisations with the knowledge and tools needed to advance their projects, whether at the research and development stage, during commercialisation, or in the process of market expansion.
