The first webinar of the I3-4-BIOFERTILIZERS Capacity Building Series, organised by VEGEPOLYS VALLEY on 28 May 2026, is now available for replay, offering valuable insights into strategies for entering and expanding in international biofertilizer markets.
During the first part of the session, experts Lauren Holtslag and Nicolas Macaigne explored the key considerations for successful market entry. Their discussion focused on the importance of selecting the most suitable target market, highlighting that the largest market is not always the most appropriate, while also addressing how companies can effectively position their products to meet specific local needs. Particular emphasis was placed on developing a sound regulatory strategy to avoid costly challenges, as well as on preparing sales teams and identifying the right distribution partnerships.
The second part of the webinar shifted focus to high-potential regions, with Xavier Mollet and Diane Flora N Gandi sharing practical insights from Latin America and West Africa. The speakers highlighted dynamic markets such as Peru, Chile, Ecuador, and Ivory Coast, outlining their specific characteristics and opportunities. They also discussed the need to adapt products to local conditions, including pricing structures, quality expectations, and farmer training requirements. In addition, the session addressed key regulatory barriers, such as registration processes, local trials, and mandatory partnerships, alongside strategies for identifying and maintaining reliable distribution networks.
Overall, the webinar provides a comprehensive and practical framework to support organisations in translating their internationalisation ambitions into concrete, actionable plans.
